The History of Golden Retriever
The legend says:
If you prefer stories, especially because fantasy and legend interwine so also for the golden retriever it is said that for many years it was believed that the origin of this breed was linked to the circo. It is said that in 1858 Lord Tweedmouth remained impressed by a group of mighty shepherd dogs with golden yellow mantle that followed a circus coming from the Caucasus.
Following a fire that destroyed the circus, Lord Tweedmouth bought them en bloc because affected not only by the appearance but also by the intelligence displayed in perfoming the Cistercians exercises.
The aim was to add these dogs in a program of research for new hunting dogs, for ongoing development of weapons used with weapons with a greater capacity to recharge. Work documented by record of breeding of Lord Tweemouth (1868-1889) under which it can be traced back to the first litter that scientifically gave rise to race today called Golden Retriever, that is the mating between a yellow hair long male called Nous and a female tweed water spaniel called Bell.
It was named “Retriever with wavy hair” or “Golden Retriever” up in early 1900 and it is thank to Lord Tweedmout that today this race exist. Officially recognized as a breed by the English Kennel Club only in 1960, the Golden is, with the Labrador, the most recognized racial group of the Retrievers.
Professionals say that it is the perfect dog, it is sweet and loves people, it is affectionate without being intrusive, it is easy trainable, it adapts itself to any environment, in short it embodies all those qualities you can look in a dog, the beauty morphological and the best qualities behavioral.
Only “flaw” (as someone defines it) is that, as the whole group of Retrivier it is a hunting dog, true auxiliary of rifle a gun dog with “sweet tooth” which prefers water to country . The Golden needs space, to move, run and play, in conclusion of an intense activity daily.
By professionals, it is nicknamed the dog-dog, in fact it contains in itself all the qualities that you may want from a dog: sweetness, speed learning, affection without being intrusive, adaptability to every kind on environment and person. If it happens to you to hear that a Golden ha bitten someone, don’t believe it, that dog was certainly not a Golden retriever.
